				911 Targas

I love the Hot Rod/R Gruppe type early 911s but they are all coupes. I have a 71T Targa, does anyone have pics of Hot Rod/R Gruppe type Targas?

R replica targas are not that common. Maybe because there is not a "real" one to emulate. I'm hot rodding my Targa. I admit that a coupe would be better to hot rod, but thats what I have to work with. Also I leave the top off most of the year, and if I get in a coupe it feels clostrophobic. I won't post a picture, because it still has embarrassing accordian bumpers put on by a PO.

I am building a 71 targa hot rod as well, but mine is still in the mess state. Right now I have the body apart. Adding RS flares, shaving the deco trim, rocker moldings and going with 16x7/8 fuchs. The interior already has RS carpet, door panels, momo wheel....... I am thinking carbed 3.0l for motivation, but not until the body and chasis are done. One money drain at a time I say.

Targas aren't race cars, they're cruisers. Rennline floorboards and speed holes look silly to me. That doesn't mean a targa can't be cool though. Here's one owned by an R Gruppe member with a super rad scoop and stainless top. It oozes SoCal cool...

Bill's targa above was my initial inspiration. I sometimes regret selling it. -Todd

There is already a thread about this. I don't think we need another one. Show me your hot rod Targa.
