I'm always chasing down any leaks and smoking issues on my 79SC. curious tho about

If I drive the 911 *1979 sc* (remember this is back dated to the exhaust of a 1974 911, if that matters) if I drive her mellow and just take it easy it does not smoke or anything. It drives the 10 miles to work and it's just completely fine.

BUT, If I drive 'er hard, after i'd say just a few miles of that kind of driving, then when I pull up to a complete stop, smoke sort of billows from the front left and right wheel wells. Sort of a light gray smoke maybe? As I sit at a long red light it is quite noticable. I really want that to stop. I was wondering if it is maybe the oil cooler up front leaking? or is it just the burnoff of a bit of oil coming from the exhaust and blowing forward a bit?

Could this be a leaking oil cooler in the back? I thought my shop mentioned that is a potential issue for my car.

In the morning, everytime I start it after sitting all night a bit of smoke blows out the back for a few seconds, but I hear that is pretty normal.

Mainly, I am wondering if the rings are getting too worn, what color smoke would that be, I cannot remember

My 79 SC does the same thing. Generally only if I brake hard, though. Smoke from the front of the car...

Hmm. I should try to see if I can somehow drive it hard, and not brake hard and see if I can recreate it. I never actually thought it could be brakes.
Vash-I was hungry a second ago, but now.. not so much
The smell my cutch makes when I stomped on it too hard is quite disgusting, liek a moldy carpet smell... I'll let you all know what I find out and maybe post a video or pic of it if I can

I got tired of chasing down my vacuum leaks, everyone told me I was NUTZ, that my baby sounds good and ran good why bother.

Well, I pulled the trigger and went to my wrench who also thought I was Nutty. Well he hooked up the SMOKER and Voila, leak found.

Freakin U line behind the TB. No more leaks.

Now to tackle the Fuel Pressure Regulator to hopefully finally fix my richness and low idle issue. At Speed she is perfect, pulls like "Bat out of Hell"
