Easiest Porsche maintenance? Drive the thing!
After a couple months of ownership and struggling with rich running carbs and fooling plugs, I was enlightened by the car's PO, James Brown, that perhaps I should push the car a little harder. (Actually, a lot) I must say that after taking his advice and running the car to redline numerous times per drive and generally driving it often and hard, it is purring like a tiger. No fooling plugs, no foul smell of gas in the garage and what appears to be slightly better gas mileage.
My boss said he saw an 85 with only 21k on it and I said, "No thanks. 911's are meant to be driven. Hard! That things probably a basket case." Ferdinand would be proud of my non-garage-queen, driven daily to redline, 911SC!

Took mine out today. I was off the day after the 4th. Drove out to our local lake and it runs like a watch. That sounds like a hair dryer! My car just goes with 136,000 on the clock. No other car does that! Think about it....1985 cars are almost all off the road. But there are a ton of cars like mine that have never had a rebuild! The 911 is truly a work of art and built like no other. Nick
