'74 alternator and starter re-build
While I've got my '74 off the road for suspension work I'm going to have a go-through on the Alternator and Starter. How do I know if I've got one of the "lucky rare" alternators with replaceable brushes (part # 901-603-907-00-OEM)
Starter has a dead spot which I'm hoping isn't more that gunge. Are brushes or other consumable parts available for a stock Bosch starter? Thanks.

I think the brushes are. my local shop has parts, they require I bring in the part so I can match them properly.
The trick is soldering the brushes on requires industrial strength soldering gun. I posted a thread on servicing it I have another 6 months before I have to replace it. The shop offers a life time starter for 89 bucks, not bad may have to pull the trigger soon.
