Hi folks,
I was going to ask about finding different size gears to accomodate a wider than stock engine configuration. However I found the company that does this on my own, and just got off the phone with Ted Robinson of German Precision in Sunnyvale, CA. What an asset to the Porsche world. He spent 15 minutes talking with me, discussing my options, counselling me against my planned route, even though it meant not getting any business from me. I was thoroughly impressed. just thought I'd pass it along |

I agree. I've done business with Ted Robinson. He's a gentleman, he knows his stuff and his work is superb. All my future Porsche machine work will go to Ted.

Hello
Well thats the normal way in busines. A costumer asks and you as the expert have to show the ways and the costs. Then you have to make a "package" to met the requirements. Money is an issue there too. Most costumers the call other companys and compare what they heard and what it costs and if you had been correct in your tone and your sugestion seems to be the best relation you have a new costumer and hopefully a long term relationship. But donīt wory they often come back after they spend less and earned more trouble then it made good. On exact thissituation those people remeber what you said several weeks ago and why you would not do any shortcomings on that issue. Best comercial in world, maybe besides waynes board. img]http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/smi3.gif[/img] But if no one calls you canīt make money and if you handle people like AA then you run out off buisiness and have to sale via ebay. I always try to spend at least ten minutes with a new customer, and I wholeheartedly agree - make your recommendation whether or not it will make the sale. The customer will trust you, and come back for more...

Ted gets my vote, I would not consider an
engine rebuild without his help. He knows 911 engines. Bruce Herrmann |
