Question Early 911 hand throttle lever connection

Hi gents, long time no be here. After over 10 years I decided to investigate why the hand throttle lever was not working on my 73T. I found the white plastic piece that connects the lever to the throttle cable wedged half way down the transmission tunnel. Can anyone tell me how the plastic piece connects to the throttle cable?? I also found a small piece of rubber about an inch long, ribbed, with an 'n' shape cross section. Seems like more than a coincidence that it slides over the throttle cable and then compresses into the white plastic piece, but it falls off easily and the throttle cable slides - is that really the solution? or is there a piece missing? Best regards, Dean: confused:

Reconnecting the hand throttle lever is on my "TO DO" list, I am interested if you get any response as I myself was wondering the same.

The 'L' shaped end of the plastic lever has a slot that slips over the solid throttle shaft that is about 1/8" diameter. There is a collar on the shaft with a set screw and you slide that along until it just touches the plastic lever when the hand throttle lever is down. It just takes a little fiddling. I'll bet your plastic lever is broken. They're easy to find new.

So far, I'm 3 for 3...all of my cars the adjuster on the cable just needed to be adjusted.

Mine broke as well, and there a number of posts on how to replace. It's kind of a ***** to do with the driver seat in but I did it, just takes time. I think pelican has the part.

Wayne sells it here: 901-424-317-00-M100. Prtetty easy job if the seats are out. Just unbolt the parking brake assembly and pull up. A small c clip attaches it to the ever and the other end just pushes over the throttle shaft.

The white nylon piece is fine, still fresh. Its the collar with the set screw that is missing. Looks like 901-424-319-00 and N0131141. Think it might be visible through the rectangular access hole just ahead of the throttle lever if the carpet is up;

can anyone post a photo?

it couldn't have gone far, did you feel around to see if it slid forward or back on the cable?
