help!! how do i post a wav file??
i'm trying to post a sound file
how do i down load a sound wav file?? do i need to convert it to another format?? thanks in advance |
Hi Richard,
I think you'll find that you can't post it onto pelican's web site, Wayne's limited uploads to graphics files only. So, what you need to do is upload it to your own private web-space, then post the URL to it here. If you haven't got any webspace I can upload it to mine for you and send you the URL. Just email the wav file to me at scott.tim@btconnect.com and I'll get it sorted for you. What size is it? Cheers, Tim. ____________ 1983 SC Targa |
tim thats great thanks
the file is 1.01 mb (48 secs of sound) i'll email it now thanks again http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat6.gif |

|

thanks again tim.
i wasn't sure how it would sound so glad you liked it!!:D |
Thanks to both of you for making the sound available.
It sounds pretty good, but not much different from my stock setup. A bit louder and with more burble, but that's it. I like it that way. A couple of days ago I needed my dad's Volvo so he had to drive my Porsche to work (not that he's sorry about that :D ). As he drove off down the road I just stood there on the sidewalk and watched the car (it's funny how different your car seems when someone else is driving it). It made me think. It has such a pure and beautiful sound as it is now. I'm having serious second thoughts about sacrificing that pure sound for 10 extra horsies (SSI). I would hate for it to sound like a V8 or similar. I guess I'm getting cold feet now and you are one of the reasons Richard :D BTW Richard I got the 993 leatherseats. That's why I needed my dads Volvo. They are going to look sooooo good in my 911. |
|
Mikkel - oh, what can i say? i was going to call you a purist!! then you go and put 993 seats in!!! post pics of the install??
each to their own ;) beepbeep - as a certain mr carey once said "i like that, alot" TOTALLY AWESOME recording. mine pales in comparison..... :( where's that recorder......................... |
hey beepbeep thats a nice recording. What did you use to record that? - (aside from the 911) :D
|
Richard
The seats are not installed yet. And to make matters worse I don't have a digital camera. But when the seats are in I'll have to visit my Porsche friend for him to see and he happens to own a digital camera. So I guess you just need to be patient :) beepbeep's sound is a professionally made recording. It comes from a CD with Porsche engine sounds that is included with Tobias Aichele's book "Porsche 911 - Der Luftgekühlte Boxermotor". You can also find that sound recording at my homepage as well as 3 other's from the same Porsche CD. My homepage is: www.pelicanparts.com/motorcity/mikkel |
Bingo! :) :) :)
I was waiting patiently until somebody with a good ear cracks my hoax and hears that car on this recordning is 935....probably "baby" with 2-liter engine :-))) No standard 911 spins that freely! :-) Well, it didn't lasted for long :-)) |
beepbeep
That sound has long been among my favorite P-car sound recordings :) That "puuishhhhh" sound is awesome :p |
P.S.
I was actually planing to post this recordning but that would be too obvious... :-)) http://195.22.79.154/temp/beepbeep_drives_his_volvo.mp3 |
