Help with ball joint replacement
Replacing both front ball joints on 1972 911T
Sprayed WD-40 all over everything and let set for a few days. I used my air impact hammer to lossen the bottom nut below the ball joint. That came off ok. Next I see I need to remove the double wedge bolt on the top of the ball joint. Just noticed it should come off 1st. All my 120 psi impact hammer can do is bugger up the end of this bolt. I tried raising the "A" arm a little but that didn't seem to make any difference. Anyone have a better idea? Kent Olsen

Take out the nut until the top edge is at the top of the bolt. Use a heavy gauged piece of steel and sledge. Hammer away, it will break loose.
The idea of the nut is not to mushroom the bolt if you plan to re-use it. Many will post that you should replace the wedge bolt and nut. I did not, no issues, your choice. Jim
