First pics of my Zuffenhaus fuchs!

hey all, so i had placed an order for a new set of the zuffenhaus fuchs in the week after the 4th of july... At first, i was going to go with the RSR finish on my car, but keith recommended, after seeing a picture of my car, which has BBS style mesh wheels that are the same color as my car (kalahari beige metallic, which is a 944 color... it's almost identical to platinum metallic), that i have the centers color coded to match my car...

I was initially told that turnaround time would be 3-5 weeks, as that is the standard turnaround time for Wiedman's Wheels to finish/re-finish a set of wheel centers. But i am going on a road trip/camping trip a week from today, and so i asked if there was any way that i could get the wheels done and back in time for me to have them on the car for the trip.

So, with expedited shipping of the centers to wiedman's, and Harry Wiedman's willingness to expedite the finishing on my centers, he was able to get them done and mailed back by monday of this week. Zuffenhaus received them yesterday, and Keith apparently put in an all-nighter and got my wheels together.... They will be completely finished and shipped out tomorrow, and arrive probably on tuesday, or wednesday at the latest.

Keith just sent me a couple pics that he took of the wheels as they were going together, but they are taken in the dark and are cell phone pics, so they arent the highest quality... but imo, they are GORGEOUS....

So, id say that people shouldnt be so worried about the ability for zuffenhaus to turn around a set of wheels for you in a reasonable time nowadays. I'd suggest calling keith to touch base with him so that you can get information directly from him about what pieces they have in stock and the timelines for the specific wheels you are looking for..

Anyway, here's the pics:

Sorry it took so long to respond. I'm on my iPhone right now, so the only pic I can show you is what is in my profile.

They were shipped out on Friday via USPS priority shipping in order to get them here in time. They should be arriving today or tomorrow.

I'm just a little psyched about them.

I'll post some pics this week if I can, otherwise it will be next week.

hey all...

So, the wheels arrived today! I had the tires mounted and installed using the Road Force balancing method.

The car looks amazing. It will look that much better once i get the centercaps done, but the priority was to get the wheels done and on the car for my road trip on thursday. I think im going to have to go with chromed lug nuts since my wheel locks are chromed, and the rest of the lugs are black..

To terry997, you can get them from Zuffenhaus: Eurowerks | Zuffenhaus [ Charlotte, NC Porsche & BMW Service and Repair ]

Here's a pic of the car... Because the lips are SO amazingly well polished, and they are pretty deep, they kind of make the wheels look a little weird because of the reflections.. hehe...

Anyway, thanks everyone!

I can get a few more pics taken tomorrow. I'm gonna get a cheap used set of centercaps from the shop I go to. Once I get them on there, I'll take some pic from different angles and some close-ups.

The plan for the center caps, ultimately is that I'm gonna get a color-matched set from Wiedman's wheels. The set that Harvey paints himself and then hand paints in the Porsche Crest.

Oh, ALL rumors about these wheels being unfathomably light are TRUE.

At the shop where j have them delivered, when the tech asked one of the owners what was in the boxes, she told them they were the wheels to go on the tires next to them. Apparently the guy, used to dealing with heavy ass big wheels put on one of those back brace belts, picked up one of the boxes and nearly fell over backward because of the lack of weight.

He looked at the owner (who was aware that they were particularly light, and was screwing with her employee) and said, "there is no way that there is a wheel in there." So he opened the box and looked. Everyone that works there loved the wheels. The owner in particular was in love with them.

When I first saw them on the car, I just caught a glimpse of my car, then I saw the car backing up and I could feel my eyes go wide and jaw drop open a bit.

I loved the BBS style wheels on this car, but MAN it looks good. Like I said, all that's left are getting chrome lug nuts and the proper centercaps.

But I can still deal as is... Hehe.
