Question from a beginner

I just bought my first Porsche, a 2007 Carrera. It has tiptronic and only 12,000 miles. I have a lot to learn, I know!
I have read a big problem with Porsche's is engine oil leaks. Is that exaggerated or only a problem with older 911's? Is this something I should be concerned about

Thanks

Nice car. I have no idea about any oil leaks on the water cooled cars. Welcome to the forums!

First, please update your location in your user profile. Secondly, you really shouldn't be to worried about oil leaks on this car, you should have the M97 engine in this car--the early 2000 cars with M96 blocks had alot of RMS leaks.

Just keep an eye on the gargae floor if you suspect some kind of leak and report back.

BTW I drive an '89 targa and its dry as a bone!

Leaks come with age... Heck I am old and I leak too!
Seriously, nice car, and I love the wheels!

Had and 02 C4S with no leaks (M96 engine). I expect the new GTS will not have any leaks until well aged and high mileage.
The key seems to be to actually drive the cars. Use the full range of revs and enjoy the ride.
Welcome to the addiction.
