Alah Akbar.....I mean WhooHoo!

Glad you made it back. Just got word from my little brother that he is also on his way home. He's went over on Sep 12. Seems the government had a "hunch". There should be a SCWDP sticker strategically placed on one of the Looking Glass spy planes. I haven't had a chance to ask him where he put it yet, Ha!

Welcome home.

Welcome back Leland!

Wow, thank you so much for the kind words guys!

I have been incredibly busy all day today and this is the first time that I've had a chance to sit down.

Shawn, yes... I got on the computer and wrote you guys first before going to my bosses house to retrieve my "stash".
...but that's only because it was too early to go over. I woke up at like 7:30 am with images of leather seats and short shift kits dancing in my head.

... but I had to wait 'til about 11 to go get the stuff.

WOW! BIG PILE!

Took me several hours to go through everything and consolidate boxes so I could fit everything in my truck...otherwise it would have taken like three trips.

NO big problems either...that's what I'm most happy about.
Out of all of the things I bought in the last 6 months... everything turned out really good.
Seats look real nice, oil lines are impeccable, Marcs oil cooler was NOT blown up. ;)
So all in all.. I'm very happy.

I used jumper cables and jump started the car... after a few tries, she fired right up. I was pretty happy with that.
I let it warm up for about 15 minutes before taking off for a quick jot round the block. Because it is so cold out, the oil leak was very very slow,.. but as it warmed up, I could tell it was getting a bit faster. No worries.. I'm still confident that I can fix it. :)

A couple hours later I tried to restart it and the battery wouldn't hold a charge. So I just went and bought a new one.

As soon as it gets light out, I am heading out to start putting some of this stuff on the car....
...so I have SOME room in my bedroom!!!!! :D

Thanks again for all the nice words fellas... it's good to be home!

P.S. Shawn, I tried to email you about the BBB/Parade/RRR and it wouldn't go out.

P.P.S. Doug, i'll email you about the RRR.
I'm a for sure atendee!!!!!!

Welcome back! And thank you......now the plot to turn you over to the early 911 darkside can recommence....SCWDP#2 (82SC) is almost there, he still insists on keeping his SC sportseats!:)

Lee, glad you got back here OK!

Leland - welcome home, and thank you.

And by the way - at least they fixed your plane for you. Along with 22 other guys, I once flew space-A on a C-5a from Mildenhall, in England, to Travis AFB in California. About 3 hours out of Mildenhall, you know, waaaaaay out over the Atlantic, I started a conversation with a loadmaster, and asked why the plane was so empty, as there was nothing in it except the 23 of us and our luggage. His reply - "We're ferrying it back to Travis for repairs. It's got a cracked wing spar."

Say what?

Again, welcome home!

carnut169 03-10-2002 08:35 PM

Welcome back Leland. Guess I'll have to offer a raincheck on the drive in Atlanta.... <p>
Just like all above- thanks for a job well done!

old_skul 03-10-2002 09:16 PM

Welcome back, Leland. Thanks for putting in your duties "over there". Consider that repayment enough :)

Time to start in on the car! It's getting to be springtime, so go for it!

SCWDP and Team Folgers, AWAY!
