993 RS Pulley or Bosch Alternator Bearing Sound?

Just installed the Rothsport RS pulley. Is the whirring sound in the background always there with the RS pulley or is that sound a bearing on the way out?

Thanks

Take the belts off, and spin the alternator by hand. You can usually feel a bad bearing. When my alternator bearings were dying, they were sounding like a small concrete mixer.

I tried to get it rebuilt locally, but there are no more alternator shops in business in this area. I had to replace the alternator wit a new Valeo. All is well now.
