The hole in question is on the passenger side inside the trunk, side of the fender.

Not any big ones. A few small ones.

The hole for the front condenser, if so equipped, is on the left (driver's) side of the front wall, adjacent to the other end of the jack.

Yes, I have all the correct holes for the front condenser fan.

Ok I will try again.

Maybe he glued it in place to make a seat for the original Bilstein Jack. Can not tell from the photo but maybe the foot of the original bilstein Jack could seat neatly in that can.

On my car that jack is always a bit loose because it is only attached with one strap.
