strut questions need asap help!!
Help I just recieved new Bilstein HD shocks for my Bilstien struts.I did the bench test and , The rebound. and the compression rate is different. Does that matter..I just put them both outsde to get an even temp. to try again..Do I have a bad new shock??? . One of them is clearly slower rebond by about 3 seconds in return..TIA

The brand doesn't matter ... all 'normal' shocks have a higher damping rate for rebound than compression!

Warren should Both new shocks match each other in speed of rebound. i.e. Both raise at the exact same speed.

With the 'de Carbon patent' high-pressure monotube gas shock designs , of which Bilstein are the most common example, it depends on how much gas pressure has bled off on the used shock. If there is no sign of oil leakage ... I would expect a worn-out shock to return faster on the return stroke than a brand-new replacement.

Warren Thanks for a speedy response But my questions is on both of my BRAND NEW shox The rebound rate is different. 7 seconds different side by side on the new shocks . one of the "New "shocks rebounds alot faster than the other "NEW" shock
