OT - Audi S4 tire reccomendation
Off topic, however this BBS has been the paramount source for me to go from ignorant to less ignorant w my SC (and yes, I have the sticker)...so best thoughts on summer tires for an Audi S4 (wagon)?
They're 17" wheels, 225 45 tires, came with Potenza which were awful, they've disintegrated, so I have to replace. Car is used mostly for street driving, a few track / DE events (which is why I got the 911...). Not much city driving, mostly on back roads here in the Berkshires (and the Taconic State Pkwy in NYC). A few rutted roads. Looking for the best performing, best wearing deal available....any thoughts?

I also have an S4, I have been impressed with Dunlop SP9000 very quiet, and durable but gives up a bit of ultimate grip to Bridgestone SO-3 and Pirelli P Zero Rosso. I got tired of buying new BS or Pirelli every 10000 mi.

Checkout the new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S, it is an all season performance tire. It got a good review on the Tire Rack website. Performs well in summer and cold, wet and even snow. You can even use it for autocross. Not cheap!

My S4 still has the OE "Blowtenzas" on it (11K miles), but I'd been leaning towards the S03's as replacements. I don't drive many miles and it rarely rains here in L.A., so good grip/handling and decently quiet behavior is what I'm after. It's purely a street car.
