Bruce Anderson's book has a wealth of useful information on this topic, as does Steve Weiner's Rennsport Systems:
http://www.rennsportsystems.com/~porsche/engines%202.0-2.4.html http://www.rennsportsystems.com/~porsche/2e.html I think all S cams are the same. But I don't know. There is an awful lot of other stuff you need to think about if you are doing the upgrade you describe. You don't specifically mention it, but you need 2.4 pistons and cylinders and they probably need to be 's' ones so the valves don't bang all over the pistons. If the engine is apart it could probably do with all the other rebuild stuff (are you doing that too?, redo heads/valves, bearings, chains, blah blah blah - Ive never done it so I have no idea, but it all scares me), especially the magnesium case machining for longevity everyone is so hot on. And everything is Porsche parts with Porsche tax, so BOHICA. Sorry to be negative , but I know you are a young guy and when I was your age I didn't have the money for a full 911 rebuild (I did buy a Civic though... sorry... but it was a POS)

All of the MFI 'S' cams are the same part ... from the 2.0 of 1969 thru the end of RS 2.7 engine (that went into the early 1976 models of the Carrera 2.7 'bumper cars' for Australian and Sputh African markets) production in late 1975!
