Electric Windows
Hey everyone, I have just bought 74 carrera and electric windows decided to suddenly stop working. Both passenger side and driver side switches do nothing. Is there a fuse that i can check before i start pulling panels and switches etc apart troubleshooting? Its hot in australia so need to get these windows down for some flow through AC

Because both stopped at the same time >>> Definitely check the fuses before anything else.
The thing is a lot of these cars have been "re wired" over the years to resolve issues with the windows/mirrors. You may find yours is not OEM. ![]() A Haynes manual is a good guide to the various circuit diagrams. Mine has an updated section at the back that covers the later models. Check the wires coming out of the door and into the luggage compartment. Trace them back to the fuses box. Were abouts are you in Aus? I'm in Adelaide S.A. (it's cold down here)

+1 on the fuses, always check those first when something stops working. I've also heard that if the driver side stops working then the passenger will stop as well. So the driver side switch might have broken. When one of my switches broke i could shake it and hear something loose. I don't know if that is always the case but its worth a shot.
