School me on scales...recommendation please

I have done some research here and the net and about ready to pull the trigger on a set of scales. From what I have gathered 1,100lb should be sufficient for my 84 Carrera.

The best price I have found is SummitRacing with the Longacre Accuset at $883

Anyone else have a source or another brand they prefer with pro's cons etc. I read a few reviews and this seems to be a pretty standard, solid set of scales with good reviews.

Thanks -

Go with 15" pads. It's easier to square the tire up on them. Plus if you ever want to sell them, most want them.

OK - good to know. So those are a few dollars more it seems.

Was wondering about that. I was thinking a 12X12 square would be big enough but I guess with larger tires probably not.

Just for reference I got a set of ProForm scales for a good deal so I bought them. Seem to work just fine and have plenty of capacity- 1250 lb pads. Pads are small ones but I didn't have a problem setting up the car on them- I run 8 and 10 in. wheels with 245/275 respectively
