Oil leak behind fan shroud
After removing my fan and housing i noticed this wet patch on the right hand side of the engine? Anyone know where it could be leaking from?

You've got three possibilities, all gathered in one place for ease of investigation. The oil pressure switch is a notorious leaker and is just forward of the shroud on the right hand case half. In that same vicinity is the crankcase ventilation hose and the thermostat cover both of which can cause what you see.

Will that require an engine drop?

No drop required, but removing the intake is a big help. I think some have done it by just removing the air box and throttle body. What year is yours?

So if its the oil pressure switch I need a new one?
If its the vent hose or thermostat cover they need tightening??..... Would this be something I could do myself? I'm good with a hammer - that's about it.... |

Thanks for taking the time to post a pic! So much easier when you can actually see what people are talking about.

What Garry labeled as Oil Temp Switch is the Oil Temp Thermostat. It controls oil flow to the on-board cooler based on oil temp.
