carrera cooler thermostat thread size

Just got a reproduction carrera cooler. Looks to be good quality except they painted the fins. Anyway, I am getting ready to install this, but without a fan / thermostat. Anyone know the thread count / pitch for the thermostat hole? I plan on putting a short bolt in it, with a copper washer, stainless of course.

From Tasker: 14 mm. I found a 14mm Honda oil drain plug at Autozone that did the trick, with a rubber gasket. For future info.

I may have to go that route, but did not, considering my trombone cooled just fine on the street and the carerra cooler is primarily to aid in cooling at the track, where you don't really need a fan. I figure the cooler shouldn't be any worse than a trombone on the street, even without a fan.

Na2ub, you may want to consider having the cooler cleaned before install. There was a thread on here a while back about the tasker having some debris in it-new. Are you worried about oil not getting up to temp without the thermostat??
Let me know how that cooler works out- I'm planning on buying the tasker from pelican soon also.

Too late. Installed already. The thermostat on the cooler is only for controlling a fan. The oil flow is controlled by the in line thermostat in the rear wheel well area. I just bought the cooler, 2 flex oil hoses, and 3 rubber mounts. I fabbed a bracket to mount it and made a stone guard and surround out of HVAC vent, sheet metal, and pipe insulation. Took many hours but turned out great. Tasker did ship it with plastic covers on the in / out fittings, so that was very good. Shame they left the thermostat hole wide open without a plug.

1/4" NPT/with gasket will work.

My bad. Guess I didnt read it right. I thought you were saying you deleted the oil line thermostat.
