Cooling problems..

I pulled the engine from my car, 2.4 S, and made some modifications such as crank fire, carbs, and new fiberglass engine shroud but now the engine overheats quite quickly. The shroud I put on does not have the raised channel going to the oil cooler. Some appear to be like that while others, including the one I replaced, have a raised channel that would appear to flow more air to the cooler. Any thoughts on which provides the best cooling? Not much else was changed so I'm puzzled as to why this is happening.

Can you take a pic of the shroud, but that sounds like one of the problems.

I loaded in "Porsche Engine Shroud" into ebaymotors and found this cover that does not have the cooling duct setup.

A whole lot of air is forced through that cooler with the original set up. I am with tobluforu. That may be THE problem.
