Koni Strut...with monoball
Ok, just some opinions from you guys....
1974 911....with Koni struts.. Now I got the monoball upper strut attachment and installed it.... What I fount odd is that I could not put anything between the strut top and the monoball housing....and I could not put both lock washers on the nut... Further more there was no way to torque the nut on the strut...I got it tight and barely with the nut supplied...I was not a happy camper... so to remedy the problem, and uncomfortable feeling...I drilled safety wire holes in the nut and slot lock washer and used .030 safety wire to prevent it from backing off.... Anyone else come across this type of problem?

You need an impact wrench for that nut.

additional question
When you set the monoball in place and you get the strut put together...
you see that the top of the strut is actually resting on the monoball with no rubber or bushing there...and you can put one in or you will not have threads to attach the mounting nut. It doesnt make any sense to me why it would bee this way. Im beginning to think this is not the monoball for me... Are all the monoballs like this?

Why do you want to put rubber in? That is the idea of the monoball- much, much less deflection due to the elimination of the rubber.

metal
what I am saying is metal against metal. i expected a rubber gasket or bumper between the shock top and the monoball. And I expected more threads showing for the top mounting nut...see picture above.
Just saying it doesnt seem as if it was designed very well.
