That looks really freakin good
|
Looking good!
|
Very cool.

Thanks guys .

No pics today guys. :( I fabbed up some brackets for the rear AC condensor but because I had to paint them I wasn't able to get them installed. I'm hoping tomorrow I can install them. I also made a bracket for the rear passenger side in front of the oil tank so the fiberglass won't be flapping around at speed. The JB Weld is drying as I type this :D. This coming Saturday is the Mille Atlanta event and I will proudly drive my " custom 911 " to the event. SmileWavy

Today I rolled her out of the garage for the first time in 5-6 weeks. I was in a rush and it was starting to get dark so not the greatest pics but you get the general concept. I want to thank Milt for a great idea and execution of a vision. I hope I kept that vision. I also want to thank Hot Wheels here in Marietta for doing a great job on the paint. I'm real happy with the final results. This will probably be my final post on this conversion. I'd also like to thank everyone that chimed in with comments either pro or con......it's all good :D Now I can start the restoration of the Boston Whaler :D it just never ends :rolleyes:http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1320188240.jpg

rear end looks unreal, front looks crap, go back to SC/Carrera or small bumper
love the colour of your car |
I think it looks great. Nothing is worse than impact bumpers. Well, actually a slant nose with impact bumpers is worse.
|
Thanks guys I'm real pleased with the results. J.J. do you really not like the front bumper ? I guess it's a love it or hate it item. Oh well I like it and that's what matters. Rattlsnak I'll see you Friday to pick up the headlight rim and probably Saturday if you're going to The Mille.
|
I love the front. Wayyyyy better than stock IMO. The more I look at the stock front the less I like it. I think you've motivated me to change my bumpers as well.

Back looks beautiful. Front looks good straight on but from the side profile the front is too tall, might I suggest a rubber wrap around that would provide a lower ground to lower valance profile (to many beers to think of a name).
Wish someone would make these....hint, hint TRE. Congrats, nice ride! |

I've followed many threads on this site where they discuss how, aerodynamically speaking, it's unwise have a tail, whale or duck, without diverting the airflow underneath the car. I believe your old bumper had a chin that served that purpose? How much higher is your new bumper compared to the OEM chin? Can you feel any difference?
|
I have not taken it out onto the road yet at speed that will happen tomorrow. My car is already at Euro height so I don't plan on going any lower. Yes the OEM valance had the rubber spoiler lip. Milt ( designer/builder of the parts ) had these on his car and didn't experience any handling issues that I am aware of. I may or may not try to add a rubber deflector. Also I think these 17 inch tires are a little taller than my 16's, if so then that will lower it a little. The real test will be if I do a DE at Road Atlanta that would tell the story. I think for highway driving there will be no issue. I'll get her up to speed tomorrow :D on my way to the Mille event at AMS and see how she does.

That looks really good! I'm impressed. I agree though. I liked the turbo twists on it with the impact bumpers but they're all wrong for the retro look. You need to go back to Fuchs. And you need shorter tires - like 15's. That would set the car closer to the ground. And then when you lower it, it would look really aggressive.

Looks nice, but I'd opt for the turbo tail.
