88 Coupe Market Value
Does anyone have a copy of Bruce Anderson's latest Market Value article on the '84-'89 Carrera's? I can't seem to find my copy. I am specifically interested in the 88 Coupe.
Thanks

poor - 18807
good - 21383 excellent - 28625 These are pre-9/11 prices though. I have seen '87-'89 cars as low as $14K, and a lot in the low $20's have been sitting around and not selling. Thinking of selling? |

Things may be looking up for SC and Carrera prices at least here on the east coast. I attended the huge monthly Manheim(PA) highline auction at the end of Feb. and noted that several low mile '87-89 coupes and cabs wholesaled for high 20's, low-mid 30's. A nice '89 anniversary coupe with 93K was a 'no sale' at 21.5K. A couple of nice '82 and '83 SC coupes wholesaled around 14-15K. May have been an anomaly, but I took it as a sign that perhaps the economy is starting to rebound.

Thanks for the help!
I constantly check and it seems that there was a brief time (dead of winter) when prices softened a little but it didn't seem to last long. I am seeing early SC's for sale in the mid teens that are nothing special. There's a general consensus that the economy will be turning around and older 911's are absolute bargains considering what kind of car you get (especially 87-89). I just checked one 911 classified site and the average asking price for 87 coupes was $26331, for 88's it was 28133 and for 89's 29262. Yes, I am thinking of selling. I am looking at a friends Turbo or a 993 but I am not dying to sell mine either since there's nothing wrong with it and it's under warranty. It's also important to not panic sell a 911. I waited 3 months for the first serious call on my 87 cab that I owned and a guy bought it sight unseen at full asking price (same as I PAID for it 1 1/2 years earlier!). Flew in from LA, picked it up and drove home. Ebay maybe... Later and thanks again,

Ladies and Gentlemen:
It is with great reluctance that I have decided to offer my '88 Coupe for sale. I hate to say it, but after months of using her to haul parts back and forth for my '71, I have determined that I need a vehicle with more interior capacity/hauling room. http://members.rennlist.com/john_cramer/ I refer to Bruce's valuation in the "valuation" section of the site. Best regards. John
