Ugliest Color on a 911

I will pick Sepia - but only in bright light, not in dark light (where it looks pretty nice)...

I will agree.

I did see a dark brown on a new Boxster, it beautiful. Think it was a special order paint.

Any of those trendy flat/mat paints these days. Ugly, ridiculous upkeep, bizarrely expensive, sabotages the beautiful curves on a 911. Typically, the retard who puts that on his 911 also has the trend-oid all black wheels to complete the uglifying treatment.

I think anything slightly poo coloured could be construed dubious , but nothing looks better when you break out the 70s wardrobe!

Plecostomus 08-18-2011 05:46 PM

That flat poop-brown is one of the worst. Silver is another.

My first Porsche was a Sepia Brown '73.5 911T that my spouse referred to as "Baby **** #2".

Lilac (light purple)

saw a teal green/light blue 964 a couple of weeks ago that should make the list.

This is just wrong, even if you are a female and/or celebrity

Hey! That was the color of my Grandma's kitchen table in the 70's.

Bob Kontak 08-18-2011 06:54 PM

OMG - I saw that color at Stoddards in 1993. It was not a wide-body 964 though. I though for sure it was a color to sample.

Once that color has been seen, it cannot be unseen. It remains till death.

I love all of the 'ugly' colors. Lots of the browns fall into that category and I'd own any one of them. Theres just something about a 911 in an ugly color. Does that make me strange?

Caramel has to be one of the most striking browns;

mint green/ teal is cool. So is silver. The only bad colors are brown, pink, or purple

Bob Kontak 08-18-2011 07:00 PM

I like that Caramel.

I love the sepia and the caramel. Chartreuse is another "ugly" colour that looks great on a 911.

I think Arena red is my least favourite 911 colour.

:(
Buncha jerks....

McLovin 08-18-2011 07:15 PM

I love seeing a Sepia brown 911. They are so 70s, and neat to see.

Couldn't own it, though!

I love unusual colors, and almost all the 70s colors. I'd even rock that Teal color.

Sepia Brown and the early 70s 911 Metallic Gold, couldn't do.

Well, I think my Grand Prix white makes for an ugly car, but it's not so much the paint as the amazingly poor paint job. Maybe even the worst browns look good when it's original or a grade A resto.

Anyone got any really good shots of olive cars?

Given the '75 provenance of my targa, I'm thinking that since the paint is far from original, that something really tapping into the middle of that decade could be fun.

You know, something green and ugly! :D

Non stock colors generally suck and don't look good to me. I appreciate sepia as a period color; and it looks good next to any car that's been painted in some stupid candy flake color
