How does a 3.0 76 Carrara cuts of fuel push mode

Hi,

a friend of mine came by with his new baby and complained that when he limps the gas the engine is firing out of the exhaust.

He has a 3.0 76 Carrera with Bosch K-jet tronic.

Can the forum tell me how the fuel is cutted of in push mode and how can I test this function

BR
Bob

How do you define "push mode" ?? What JW asked was valid and he usually knows what to do if given the correct information !!You need to explain what hte issue is in terms that others can understand...Just saying

Push mode is you are lifting the gas pedal and you have no torque applied.
the car will be pushed.\

Bob,
When a driver lifts his foot of the gas pedal the car decelerates or slows down. With no throttle applied, the engine goes back to its idle RPM's....and the car slows down ....Is this what you are saying ? Also, you said "he limps the gas the engine is firing out of the exhaust"
Do you mean the engine backfires and stumbles on deceleration when he lifts his foot off the gas pedal ?

I'm not sure why the guy can't write, but I think he's asking what stop fuel delivery when you let off the accelerator on CIS car. It appears his buddy's is backfiring during decel.

Entschuldigung ich Spreche besser Deutsch als Englisch, aber du oder Sie können beides nicht. Es ist immer das gleiche. Zuviel kalifornische Sonne macht die Birne weich und dann werden die CA quys beleidigend.

Danke Depp Person

The German word "Schubbetrieb" ist the Germany word for the mode the Porsche is doing this problem.

I freely translated it into Push Mode. Thats incorrect.

It should say Motor Braking, Overrun Condition Trailing Throttle.

Sorry guys for this misunderstanding.

My '83SC uses a deceleration valve to avoid the pop on over-run/lifting off throttle. A vacuum line attached to the distributor retards the timing when the throttle is closed. However, I don't think this feature was added to CIS until the '80's so I would guess you just live with the popping. The deceleration valve was disconnected on my car by the previous owner and I find the popping not intrusive and kind of like it actually.
