due to the size, unless you change your lower valance, or remove your headlamp bucket, it wont fit. it wont fit behind a 930 style valance either. These were mounted longways and included the proper ducting on the factory cars. Even if you manage to squeeze it in you will get no airflow, just not enough room.

Thanks Rattlsnak, but I am confused. I thought this was the best cooler made by Porsche and a lot of people use them on older cars as a fender mounted oil cooler. I guess I got bad info. What is the best cooler in your opinion. My car is stock but I plan on doing DE events with it in hot summer weather and I think I need a good oil cooler, w/ thermostat and fan.
Thanks for your help. |

The C2 cooler is great. In fact, it's so good, they were able to delete the engine-mounted oil cooler and put in a power steering pump instead. But it's a great cooler in large part because of what the C2 design allowed in terms of air flow through the cooler, which is really lousy in the earlier cars. The C2 cooler has a good amount of surface area, but it doesn't fit in the earlier cars without a lot of modification, and it doesn't function well in the earlier cars because of the significant design differences between the earlier noses and the one on the C2.
The Carrera cooler is probably the best choice for your application. It's a straightforward fit and a very good cooler.

Ditto,... I think whomever told you that was confused between the C2 cooler and the Carrera cooler.

Hello
You can modify the right front corner to accept the cooler like in the 964/993 but you have much worser conditions there ( the aerodynamics don´t work plus lthe area is smaller. It will work if you use a SCRS front spoiler with a large cutout and make a tunnel to get fresh air and have the rameffect. Grüsse |

It sounds like a little much for me. I think I am going to just put in a carrera style cooler. I had no idea how wide this C2 cooler was before I bought it. I may still use the fan from it though.
Thanks Again!!! P.S. What do you think about the Mocal kits or is it best to just stick with the factory carrera oil cooler? |
