Advising a convert
Hey there,
My Dad is in the market for a 911 cabrio. He's driving my '77 all the time when I'm at school, so he's been toying with the idea of getting his own for a while. So here's the details: He definately wants a cab in white or silver (may choose others as long as it's not black like mine-- too hard to keep clean). Anyway, I think a 964 or 993 would be ideal, but can he find a nice 993 for 30k max? I'm also looking at carrera cabs for him because he likes em. What do you guys think would be the best car for him as a weekend/summer driver. Thanks for the help! It's appreciated. BTW--- There's a very nice sounding '86 coupe for sale in Central IL I just talke to the owner about. Black coupe, 96k, pristine, cup 1 alloys and og fuchs, "gold" leather interior, psunroof, perfect shifting 915 etc. Price is 20k... Email me if you want a # it was in my local paper. Best, Pete

You rang?!?!?
![]() Too rich for my current budget...I'm looking to stay close to/under $15K. Checked out an '85 today that wasn't bad at $14,900...worst dash condition I've ever seen though...totally separating everywhere. Today's experiment confirmed that I fit a better in '86 or newer with the dropped seats... I don't think you can find a nice 993 cab for $30K...I did see one at that price, but my guess would be that it was pretty ratty. You should have no problem finding a nice 964 cab in the $20's though. The usual disclaimers apply...get a '92-'94 if you can as they sorted out most of the issues with the model by then. If your dad likes a rawer feel (no power steering, etc) he should be able to find a cherry 3.2 cab in the $20's. If you find anything online in SoCal and want me to take a look and take digital pics, let me know. I'm not at all in the market for a cab, so no competition worries. |
