1.How do i increase fuel flow on DME? Bored throttle body? adj regulator?

Is it possible to increase fuel flow on DME? after installing headers i am getting some backfire and would like to increase fuel flow.

also: in performance parts catalouge there are bored out throttle bodies for sale ($$$) and adjustable fuel flow regulators. would any of these items be worth it?

thanks

There is an adjustment screw on the DME that offers some options changing the timing by + or - 3deg and changing the fuel metering some. If you can find the values for the various positions (6 positions I think) you could use that. Also you could put in larger injectors and adjust the fuel mapping or have someone do it for you.

I would think a good option for you would be a Huntley MAF system. That would change out your barn door system with a hotwire system, and also give you some adjustment. http://www.huntleyracing.com/massairflow.htm

Get a chip that is made for your header setup if possible. I'm running my 3.4L with the stock 3.2 injectors. Don't waste your money on a bored out throttle body (it wouldn't change your fuel problem anyway).

You have several options. You need to first alter your DME by either using a chip or as the previous post stated an adjustable fuel/air ratio setup like the Huntley which I installed earlier this winter. You most likely will see little improvement with the chip since they seem to be set to run very rich, hence poor gas milage. On my car, along with the MAF, I have a bored throttle body and adjustable fuel pressure regulator to boost the pressube another 6-8 lbs. I also have SSI's and Dansk sport exhaust. One other measure before cracking the engine would be to Extrudehone the inlet manifold. I have personally seen these after they are done and the difference is remarkable, allowing 20% more air flow. With the adjustable fuel/air ratio's, it is now possible to find that "sweet spot" in most rpm's, maximizing your engines output.

89 911- I see from the pictures that you still have the original "Shell Oil fluids factory fill" decals on your heater duct. So do I. When was the last time you put Shell Oil gas or oil in your car?

I think you have to drive up to some platform in the Gulf of Mexico to get it! Do most people take those off? Since they are in good shape, I have left them. They probably cost $50 to replace!
