Paint code color questions?? help! Slate Grey
 

Need an equivalent code for slate grey that will enable a dupont match. Any ideas??? Already found polo red if anybody needs it. Thanks

Paternie, in the Red Book, lists Slate Gray metallic as a special order color, code 22D. Looks like it was first available in 1989.

I have it first listedin 1965, and a small swatch from a color book in 6.1965.

You're right. I started looking with model year '73 and didn't find anything until '89. There is an earlier version of slate gray with Porsche code 6801. Couldn't a body or paint shop use this number to find the paint composition and mix it using DuPont paint?

Hmmm. That's interesting. I've got slate gray metallic on my 1978 930. Was told it was a specialorder from the factory.

Don't know the duPont number, though.
