MSD 6AL-2 in 78 SC

I have multiple issues starting my 78 SC so have decided to change to MSD ignition and EFI.

I was planning on going with the MSD 6AL (ala 101Projects) but see that there is a newer version - the MSD 6AL-2.

Anyone know if the MSD 6AL-2 work with my 78SC, seems like fundamentals are the same with extra features.

Thanks in advance

The same, the built-in rev limiter is a step forward.

Many thanks, thought as much, I believe that it is still necessary to have the tach adaptor - even though the article in 101 projects says that it is hit or miss that it may be needed

I think I would spend some time trouble-shooting the base cause(s) before I started switching out components.

Sorry wwest, double posted,

I believe that my issue is with the csi system, I plan to remove the CIS in full, check clean etc.

I am viewing the MSD as a basic improvement - certainly the cheaper of the two - and a preliminary to the EFI.

Looking forward to improved performance, fuel economy and reliability.

I put a msd digital 6al into my '79. Worked just fine without the tach adapter.
