air sensor boot evolution

he everyone, i am trying to find out if i have the right air sensor boot, i have a 1975s and am wondering if it is supposed to have an outlet coming out of it at the back?

when i do a parts search here or on the internet i see an outlet on the air boot but i don't have one on my car.

i started looking into this when i found a red spacer at the cold injection valve not connected nor is it plugged. i know that the cold start injector has its own steel mini manifold inside the air box.

This manifold will need air passing through it to help atomize the gas from the cold start valve and move the gas out of the mini manifold.

If the red spacer was plugged how would the injected gas leave the metal mini manifold.

With no air flow it would simply condense on the inside walls of the mini manifold.

So with searching for how to connect this spacer i came across the air boot anomaly?

my car is not a california car, any help on this would be great

thanks, robert
