Clutch adjustment 83 SC
Installed all new clutch and related components ( including the spring )2000 miles ago.
Recently adjusted it again to the specs in Bentley's and Wayne's 101. The car idles at 1000 rpm in neutral but when I depress the clutch pedal the rpms kick up to about 1200. I am assuming that the tension on the cable is a wee bit too much and that I need to back it off a bit. Open to suggestions from those of you that know more about it than me. Thank you in advance - Dennis |

Possibly the throttle linkage is interfering with the clutch cable.

You may need to crawl down on the floor with a mirror and a flashlight and have a look. Once I discovered the interference, I pulled the clutch cable and re-routed it.

Post a pic of the underside:
+1 easy enough to re-route incorrectly after drop/install of engine and trans.
