Targa bar replacement - rear window seal?

I just removed the targa bar (cover) on my '86 - a previous owner had put a deep scratch in it. I touched it up, but it was deep enough that a refinish/replace was in order. A fellow Pelican provided me with a good one, so I'm in the middle of replacement.

Removing the bar went pretty well - I found and removed all the sheet metal screws and wheel well nuts and the bar came off without any trouble. My charcoal canister hoses were dry-rotted pretty bad, I will have to redo those as part of this job. But I did run into something I am not sure what to do about.

When I took the rear seal off - the one that goes between the targa bar cover and the rear window glass (just the rubber strip that wraps over the trailing edge of the bar, not the main window seal) there appeared to cloth tape of some kind under the rubber. The rubber seems in good enough shape to re-use, but I need to replace that cloth tape if I can, the rubber strip won't stay on by itself. The old stuff doesn't seem all that sticky or willing to cooperate. Is this something I can pick up at my FLAPS or Home Depot? What is it called? I suppose I could just glue the strip on with trim adhesive, but I want to do it right.

Funny thing is, even if I wanted to replace the whole seal, I don't see this particular seal in the Pelican catalog, and the PET is of no help either. I also found no mention of this in any of the threads I searched on targa bar replacement. I'm sure someone here has run into this - I'd appreciate any advice - I want to finish it up this weekend.

After looking at it, I'm thinking cloth electrical tape would probably work just fine, gonna try that in the morning.

Thanks for the link, eastbay, don't know why I couldn't find that.

What I did do was pick up a roll of cloth tape (3M Friction Tape) at my local HD, and it worked perfectly.

That cloth is actually bonded to the rubber and I would suggest replacing the whole seal now that you are in there.
