Help identifying 911 engine

This old man needs some expert help in finding out what my 911 engine identification number means. I understand part of the I.D. number, but would like a complete meaning as to what year car this was supposed to be in, plus model, etc. The number on the rt. side of the alternator housing is---*6122203* I would appreciate any help. Thanks, NKP676801

Your engine is US 911T 1972. Here's the list it is in German but pretty self explanatory.

Edit: It came with MFI

Here's a link for '70/'71.

Fahrzeugidentifikation 911 1970-71

The site Porsche 911 Baujahre 1964 bis 1989 has a ton of great info and even if you don't read German, just clicking around should get you a long way.

Very interesting site. For anyone like me that doesn't read German, use translate.google.com to translate the page. On my browser the button links on the page stopped working after translation, so I kept having to go back to the original german, select the page, then copy that address back to google.
