Can't find this anywhere...I seem to be missing something.
My upper holes don't line up with anything!

I just need a visual~

I'm trying to figure out where you are having your problem. Tail base to lid? I've taken mine off a few times and might could help.

Yeah, it's the base to lid where I am having the problem.

I've read on this board where the top bolts line up with the stock mounts for the plastic grill (on un-winged lids), and new holes have to be drilled in the decklid for the lower mounting bolts. The only holes I have in the top section of the wing (a factory Porsche Carrera unit) seem to be small ones (2mm?) threaded into the plastic. They don't even come close lining up with anywhere on the deckid. Maybe those are screen mounts?

I even have a fiche picture showing the assembly from the dealer...still not very clear.

I bought the wing used (NOS) and thought all I'd need was the gasket and some screws and/or bolts.

I really do appreciate the help.

Mine came with the wing from the factory so I'm afraid I won't be too much help. But I am absolutely sure somebody just did this to a red Carrera. I remember him posting pics. Try changing your subject line or searching under tail. That will at least get you the guy who did the addition, and ask him where he had to drill his holes.

The plastic grill on the decklid must come off. I am thinking you are trying to put the lid over the plastic grill. take off the grill and keep it incase you add that front spoiler with oilcooler. that grill looks great up there.

I think you are probably in need of the metal angle brackets that bolt to the tail then bolt to the deck lid. I would probably be easiest just to buy the entire tail installation kit whick includes the gasket, brackets and hardware.

I can post pictures at the weekend if it will help.

Mine is '84 3.2 cab, with Carrera tail added to a standard (flat) engine lid. I have it all in bits ready for resto and paint.
