How do you remove the starter ring gear from the pressure plate?

How do you remove the starter ring gear from the pressure plate seen here? I don't see any bolts, but there are a couple fasteners that look like heavy duty rivets. But there doesn't seem to be a way to remove them. I have a new pressure plate coming in and need to take the starter ring off of this one to install it on the new one. Thanks!

Once you have removed the 9 8mm Allen head bolts that hold the pressure plate to the flywheel, and it appears you have, just get a plastic or brass hammer and tap the ring off. Some just fall right off. Some need a little persuasion.

Haha, yeah, some rubber mallet-ing was all it took! Man that sucker was on there though. Thanks!

HAHA, yeah, that I read about when searching! I can 't imagine the chain of cuss words that would come out of my mouth if I re-installed everything, went to turn the key to start the engine, and just heard the whine of the starter motor!

If anyone needs a brand new one, I have one that was never installed.

Using a mapp gas torch, heat the ring and it'll fall right off. Wear some heavy gloves during the r&r. Reheat it to install, make certain it's facing the correct way.

As said before...don't forget to put it back. Very annoying to get it all back together and see that thing sitting there, staring at you like you're a dumbass. Not that I would know anything about that...

I turned my around to expose "new" teeth. The old side had some worn spots.
