Experience with the Polygraphite Transmission Mounts?
Pelican Parts offers replacement engine and transmission mounts based on a polygraphite material. My first choice would be the replacement units from Wevo, but the trans mounts on my 930 are not replaceable. However, it appears that my stock rubber mounts can be readily pressed out and then the new polygraphite inserts can be “sandwiched” into the transmission plate mount holes. Is this a sound approach?
Here is a picture of the product from our host’s website.

My 901 needs new mounts too.

There is a lot of positive feedback on mounts from Wevo. It looks like these are too new for much of a history.

Have they been used by anyone here yet? How easy is it to swap them out as you suggest on a 930, Steve? Otherwise, I don't see a problem with them.

Steve--looks like you should buy them and let us all know how they turn out.

They look like they would be easy to install. The only difficulty would be pressing out the stock rubber mounts. Once the rubber is out, it looks like these are just inserted into the steel mounts and then held in place by the large parabolic washers. Thanks, Steve |

Well, it's 5 years later and my old transmission mounts are still there. I don't think they are self healing and improving with age. Thus they need replacement.
Has anyone put the poly graphite bushings into the 930 cross beam? Thanks in advance. |
