Hot Lap Receiver in a Targa?

I'm trying to figure out how to mount my HotLap receiver. I have a Brey-Krause harness bar, but if I try to mount the box to that, it's partially occluded by the roll bar. Can I just use some "racers tape" it to the outside of the back window? Or do I need to rig some sort of bracket off of the harness bar?

And is it me, or are these things built just a wee bit on the cheesy side? The whole setup has a very cheep feel to it, from the big bulky boxes to the Radio Shack circuit reset buttons used to control the display module.

Hi,

I just mounted one in my coupe. I installed a roll bar not cage and just mounted it to the down strut going to the wheel well. You can mount them inside the window. Hot lap says it will not work but has been in alot of my friends cars for years.

Hope this helps
