What Brakes Pads do people like for ...

What kind of brake pads do people like for early 911's??

I don't drive on the track, but drive fairly agressively when the opportunity presents itself....

thanks,
J

Hi J ,

I have a 77 911S, over the years I have run a few different types of pads. I'm like you.. I don't autocross my car but I rarely pass up on a good opportunity to let her run. wether it be on a long back country road or nice open stretch of hiway.
I have found at least for me PBR's seem to handle all my needs, Great stopping, seem to last and they definately keep my Fiske FM-10's alot cleaner unlike OEM Pads that stop well but heat up and run allot dirtier. another brand that comes to mind are Mintex
I ran those on stock rotors they worked great but seem to wear on the rotors a little more. I have never run Ferodo pads, I hear they work great.

For street use Axxis Metalmasters are a great choice.

Cool

I'm with Bill on this one. I just installed the Axxis on my street '77. Not broken in yet, but already noticably better for my needs than stock pads....Ron

The Metalmasters and the Ferodo street compound pads are both great for 'aggressive' street use and autox. Minimal dust & noise.

I have had very good luck with Mintex, which you can get right here on Pelican, in fact I'll be ordering a set on Monday!

I also used Mintex, ordered from PP. I've been very happy with them.
