Trying to find a replacement deck lid for my 1985 911?

Does anyone have a source for a replacement deck lid? My '85 has an aftermarket tea tray that's a little more radical than the original spec. I'd like to change it for a plain rear lid or perhaps an original whale tail/tea tray. I've performed a few google searches and am having a tough time finding good information.

Most of the dismantlers throughout the US have them, but they usually want quite a bit for them ($600+). I don't think they sell many, at least not to regular enthusiasts (maybe to body shops doing insurance work?).

They are fairly easy to find, though. Just search the classifieds, they come up from time to time. Or post a wanted ad.

I hate all of the tails, and my current Carrera came with one. I was able to find a complete decklid (lid and grille) from a Carrera for $100. You probably won't find one with the right color and the exact match, so you probably will have to repaint.

It's easiest to find one from an '84-89 Carrera, b/c the earlier ones will fit, but will have holes drilled for the emblem, and need to be welded up, etc.
