smoke from my instruments?
I was changing the bulbs on my oil pressure & temp gauge.
Put the gauge back in and noticed some smoke. Apparently the bulb had shorted out. I removed the gauge, and replaced the fuse for the flashers, which had melted!!Then fixed the bulb issue and then noticed a black wire with a white and green stripe had come loose. If I attach the wire to the prong on lthe lower part of the picture it causes the gauges to jump around. If I attach it to the bulb where it look like it came from ,the flashers don't work properly. The bulb Im speaking about is the one for the brakes. The red one in the center of the gauge. it is the one that is in the upper part of the picture and is the one that is on if the emergency brake is engaged.
