Talking Long awaited interior photos

Well here are a few shots of the new interior in the ole SC.

I only have a few more things to do...

Not looking too bad if I do say so myself.

I have to get another ingition switch cover...the one Pelican sent me doesn't have enough threads on it (won't stay on) ... hopefully the old style hasn't been superceded.

Note how I managed to get the seatbelt on backwards...
All and all, I'm very pleased.

Looks good! I have a set of aluminum pedals to install myself, how was it putting them in? The dead pedal is what has me concerned!

Looks great Leland!

As for the ignition cover, you now have an opportunity to install a theft prevention devise. Performance products sells (at least they did) a billet ignition cover that looks great and screws onto the OEM ignition but has a set screw that breaks off. The hole where the key goes is smaller than the OEM and virtually prevents the ignition from being pulled with a slide hammer thereby eliminating one means of theft. The down side is that to remove it, a jig has to be fabed to drill the set screw out. I opted to use a differnt type of bolt where the set screw is supposed to be and placed a plastic cover to conceal it since I didn't like the idea of having trouble in the future if the ignition switch needed to be replaced. Still, if the thief doesn't have the right tool to remove the bolt, or even knows its there, , they can't use a slide hammer to open up my ignition switch. PP may have these I haven't checked.

Didn't you get brand new seats?

My wife would love the wood dash since she is always saying how here Benz is better because of the wood.

Wow Leland. I guess the seats must be your recently bought 964 leather seats? Nice. I'm looking forward to having my 993 seats installed soon. They look very similar to your's.

Very nice. You're on fuego, man.

It's going to make you nuts waiting for the 915, I think. Or are you doing that yourself?

The 930S wheel.

How long before every SC sports a 930S wheel? They are absolutely beautiful and feel great.

Your car is looking sharp, Leland.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

Paul, I'm not too thrilled about puting anything on it that I can't get back off. Luckily in Idaho, I really don't even have to worry about locking my doors.

The 930S sttering wheel is like my centerpiece... there is no other wheel that I'd rather have in my car. Love it love it love it.

Brian, I bought the pedals a long time ago. They mount to the base of the existing pedals... I like them but they were waaaay over priced. The dead pedal was a bit of a bear to install... it was just a pain to hold it in position, get the drill in position, and then find the holes through the carpeting and once again get the drill in there without moving anything... it required some amount of frustration. The clutch pedal interfered with one of the screws so I had to hold it down while drilling. But I like it... keeps allot of wear and tear off of the carpet.

I know the wood dash is not for everyone. But I love it to death. I bought it from DougE (I believe?) and it is absolutely fantastic. it is not a stick on venere set. They are actual wood replacement pieces. I bought the Momo combat knob to match the dash. In the photos on the net the wood appeared to match... but it does not. So, it'll bug me until I end up replacing it.
Mikkel, the seats came out of a 951 I believe. I haven't hooked up the power seats yet; I have three wires, red-black-and brown... just need to figure out where they go.

Jack, you know how I "binge" when I get to working on my car. I tell you...a mechanic would love to hire me.
As soon as Cary can make it down from Montana, the engine can come out and the oil cooler can go in.
I'm having the gearbox professionally done. ... I hope.

Geez Leland, sold you the dash for cheap and I don't even get credit! Just kidding -- I am glad you could use it and it looks great.

Testosterone? Jack, is that the fuel your car runs on? Love the perfect curve on that baseball cap! Lee, get the info on how to get your new pool cue? Gosh, it'll go great with the SC interior wood. UH, the windshield out make the job go easier?

Why is it that the mastermind always bears the brunt of the jokes???

Paul, I meant to email you today. My roomate brought in the mail and asked me why I had an envelope with "a naked chick on it" from Oregon, and I imediately thought "Paul".
I'll call tomorrow. My mother will really like the article, I guess it's a mom thing.
Thanks again paul,

Here's the car as of 5 minutes ago...

Lee, the car looks GREAT! The "personalization" things you've done were all in great taste. And thanks for the pic of your car...Cindy & I have been talking of covered parking for the old Dodge 4X4, now suffering the elements in a semi circle driveway. We both like the covered parking canopies in your apartment complex. Printed a pic, so someday we can show it to a contractor... Glad to hear the material on how to get your cue made it...and my "FIRST CLASS" rubber stamp girl is NOT naked! She's wearing a swimming suit...sorta. BTW, if I'd included the photo of the burns & beard with that essay? Don't think you'd be getting the cue...HA! I should show you some old early 70's pics of myself...hair to my A**...my, fashions do change.

Lee...just two things.....
The car looks marvelous. The 930S wheel will make you grin like a $hit-eating dog everytime you go for a drive!

And....are you planning on taking a Canadian girl home with you after the Rainforest Round-Up?
