To those that installed the mini high-torque starter...
What is the prescribed procedure for wiring it up? I have 3 wires, but only 2 places to put them. The loop (ground?) seems obvious, but is it as simple as braiding the other two wires together, capping them with a single female terminal and popping it in?

Hey HWM,
I have not installed it but didn't it come with instructions or reference to which terminals to hook up to? On my 85, I have 3 wires, power to Starter, thick wire, medium thickness Yellow power wire to Solenoid then smaller wire for the Solenoid switch to ignition. Here is a pic from Bentley:

So I have to assume, which I hate to do but here it goes:
Thick wire to that terminal under the blue cap. Thicker Yellow wire to the terminal near that male spade connector Thin wire to that male spade. I am sure others will verify. Jim

No, no instructions, no diagram; just the starter, a shim, and the box it came in. I tried reading other threads about these starters, but oddly haven't seen anything about how folks actually wired them up. Getting this starter wired is one of the few things keeping me from putting the engine and trans back in, so I'm trying to figure it out ASAP.

I had the same issue. It is in the archives for sure. I recall connecting the small ones.

Damn Brother, sorry to read that.
Well logic dictates, if that blue cap is for the starter then in your pic the lower terminal is for the thicker yellow power wire for the Solenoid then the male spade is for the ignition switch. Others will chime in HWM.

Well, that settles it you can piggy back the two female spades on to that single male spade. Cool.
