Heater control panel delete

On my race car since I don't have heat, ac etc I want to remove the dash panel with the sliders etc on it to put a switch panel in that location. I can't seem to figure out how to get the panel out of the dash. I'd hate to go in there with a body saw and cut it out, I just need to pop the panel out, and disconnect the various things. any suggestions

Disconnect the cables in the trunk and pull them through the dash bulkhead into the passenger compartment. Disconnect the electrical wiring on the back of the controls. Remove the nuts/bolts on the back side that hold it into the dash structure. Wiggle it out of the hole.

I predict you'll say the same thing I did when I pulled it out. "Man, that thing is a real sonofaB to get out!"

I was able to get mine out w/out having to cut anything apart. It had to be wrestled out a bit though. Hans or Klaus or Wilhelm really had their work cut out for them installing these suckers at the factory ....
