Help with Sunroof part number diagram.
I have been replacing the sunroof seals with the help of this really great thread Sunroof cable repair and new seals 87 911.
I had always wondered why my sunroof sagged in the P/S corner. When I got the S/R off I discovered the P/ sunroof support is missing a nut and bolt. I'm trying to figure out which nut and bolt I need to order. Is there anyone who has better brain function than me and can read the P/N diagram. I'm thinking its possibly part #42 but I'm really not sure. It seems like a regular screw with a semi circular nut which I assume is that way for the sun roof function. Here are some pics showing the complete side and the side with the missing part. Thanks ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Part #7
So in the Porsche diagrams its part #7 circled here, but I don't see any part numbers for the fasteners.
![]() Maybe I can just use a regular nut and bolt ? would that interfere with the sunroof function |

There are two of these guides on your sunroof (See jpg.). Call Jason at Pelican parts. He is the Parts wizard........ ![]()

Thanks 86 Targa. Its the nut with a serrated edge that fastens the guide to the sunroof mechanism. I made a temp fix with a cardboard washer between small bolt and nyloc nut, until I source the correct parts. I had a chat with Jason and have a bunch of nuts & fasteners coming from PP.
Sunroof is working fine and no longer dips on the P/S corner which is good. Eventually I will find the correct nut. Cheers |

Let me know if you still need- I think I have a defunct one in a box somewhere- Not only do you need the nut/bolt, but there are TWO spring washers that keep the serrated edges in tension. I don't know that there's a separate part # for this bolt- When I ordered new cables, it all came as one unit.
