What tool kit do I have?

This is the tool kit that is currently in my '87 930. I knew the fanbelt tool was not correct, but having looked at tools for sale adds recently, it looks like the spark plug tool isn't right either. If I remember right, the consignment place had another 70's era 911 from the same owner. I'm thinking either the dealer or the owner might have mixed up the tool bags as some point. There are "made in west germany" labeled pliers that aren't in the picture too.

That is an early model bag filled with a mix of early and late model (and some no model) tools. The bag by itself is probably worth more that a late model complete tool bag. Do you have a pic of the outside of the bag showing the clasp?

I don't have an exterior pick handy, but it is closed with two snaps, not anything I would really call a clasp. Is there a resource somewhere that details the toolkits by year / period?

For early cars, you can go to the early 911S Registry BBS and learn more than you care to know. For any car, you can chack the PET and review the tool list to see what the factory says what should be present.

Thanks guys. Looks to me like an SC bag with a hodge-podge of other tools. I'm going to be shopping for the proper kit eventually.

Heres on thats correct for the G-Model. I´m not sure about the Coloured Tag. Mine is an 87 model and the Tag is yellow. Looks exactly like the one listed here but without the stripes on the inside

I should drive down. Maybe you'd clear it with my boss? ;)

Looks a lot like a '74 to me as well.
