Question How far from the floor does you clutch disengage?

I have been toying with my clutch cable adjustment to disengage at different points of pedal travel to accomidate leg room. I know the specs set forth in Waynes book for clutch cable adjustment, but am wondering if I cause any harm to setting the cable adjustment "out of spec" to have the clutch disengage with more or less pedal travel. Is there any harm in having the clutch engage or disengage with more or less pedal travel?
