Targa Window Question? Need Help Adjusting

So now that the winter is coming the top finally back on my 78SC Targa. As this is the first year I have owned the car, im still figuring stuff out. Any way to the point, my passenger side window meats the Targa top great, it forms a nice seal and all is well. However the driver side window does not. It is off by about 1/4 inch or so. The issue this causes is when driving over 50MPH the wind noise is right in my ear and quite loud. So my question is, how is the window secured to the crank mechanistic. Is there any way I can adjust things so that when the window crank is at its extents (all the way up) the window is about 1/2 an inch (I would like some over lap) higher. I will not be back to my car until Tuesday and have not had time to take apart the door panel yet but I want to know what im looking for so I can get right in and fix it.

Regards
Dave

Dave,

I have a targa top adjustment manual that someone else sent me from this board. It is in .pst format. PM me your email address and I will forward it to you. It helped me get my window heights set.

Anyone else too.

After closing the window, and using painter's tape, here is what I did to determine the angle and depth of glass penetration into the window seal.

Then, adjusted the window mechanism, as per the Bentley.

Good luck,

Gerry

pm me as needed.

So I was just reading through the 911 shop manual that I have. They outline the procedure for adjusting windows on the post 80 models. Apparently they had some form of an adjustable stop bracket. It says that the "adjustment screw" has be omitted. As I have a 78 im going to assume i have one of these "adjustment screws" can any one confirm this.

Yes, you do have the adjustment screw. It's located under the upper trim panel of the door, centered.
