Paint touch up on edges
After polishing my '87 Carrera guards red for a local concours show I noticed that the paint is coming off the rear lower edge of the engine deck lid where it rolls under to meet the reflective Porsche strip, the edges of the gas filler door and edges of the rain rail. Is there a preferred way to touch up those areas. I have some Dr. Color Chip and it works fine for rock chips but not sure how to use it to cover a wider non pitted area. Suggestions?

The old fashion touch up paint with the brush works best for this. Use a tooth pick for the small stuff and build up the layers. After you satisfied it's close to he same thickness, use polishing compound to buff the area to a shine. Dr Color Chip is better on multiple chips on a flat surface.

Paint
I have an 89 Targa with similiar issues. I used Dr Color chip for the front hood and it turned out fantastic. The edges dont do well with that product though. I've been told that a good painter can touch up edges with an airbrush and the results are terrific. I am going to try and find someone to do this work to my car. If I get it done I'll let you know how things worked out. Please do the same with me on your end...maybe you'll get around to solving the issue quicker than me!
